Location: Burgh Island (Live-in accommodation is available, subject to availability. This starts at £25.00 per week)
Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience
Hours : 48 Hours a week

This hotel is an iconic landmark and retreat, positioned on a wildly beautiful and secluded tidal Burgh island. A career at Burgh Island is unique and is not for the faint-hearted. Island life brings with it several challenges in terms of location and working hours. This is a unique opportunity for a Pastry Chef (Chef de Partie or Commis Chef) to join its brigade. Where quality and creativity are second to none.
Responsibilities for the role:
Prepare dishes to the highest standards of quality, safety and consistency
Ensure recipes are followed to ensure the risk of cross-contamination is kept to a minimum
Ensure brand standards are followed to ensure consistency of quality
Work as part of a team in preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food
Follow standards and regulations relating to cleanliness, hygiene and safety
Ensure the chef is informed where food or other supplies need to be ordered
Check the quantity and quality of received products
Work with the head chef to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH, HAACP, Fire & Food Hygiene)
Ensure the head chef is notified of equipment malfunctions and breakdowns
General duties:
Follow hotel procedures should staff be required to exit the building.
Ensure staff do not enter unauthorised areas.
To feedback on any matters of concern to the Hotel Manager, as soon as possible.
