The Performing Arts Workshop (PAW) is seeking two passionate and skilled Support Workers to play a key role in delivering high-quality, inclusive performing arts experiences. This is a hands-on, dynamic role where no two days are the same! 
 
The Performing Arts Workshop (PAW) Support Worker plays a vital role in delivering high quality, inclusive and inspiring performing arts experiences for adults with learning disabilities and autism. This role supports the smooth day to day running of the workshop, contributes to creative planning, provides hands on technical support, and helps maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for all participants. 
We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate skills in one or more of the following areas: dance, physical theatre, music production, media creation, or backstage/technical theatre work.

Person Specification 
• Practical experience or training in performing arts, drama, music, dance or backstage skills. 
• Experience working in creative or practical environments as part of a team. 
• Strong performing arts skill set, with a willingness to teach and share skills. 
• Understanding of person-centred support. 
• Knowledge of equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice. 
• Basic knowledge of hygiene standards. 
• Awareness of risk assessment, health & safety and safeguarding procedures. 
 
Skills & Abilities 
• Ability to engage and motivate adults with learning disabilities. 
• Ability to assist in creative project development for diverse support needs. 
• Confident sharing creative, practical or IT skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office). 
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries. 
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Ability to follow policies and procedures consistently. 
 
Desirable Criteria 
• Training or qualifications in drama/performing arts teaching or facilitation. 
• At least one year’s experience in theatre production, drama coaching or technical theatre. 
• Experience teaching music, movement or dance. 
• Care Certificate or Health & Social Care qualification. 
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities or additional needs. 
• Experience in identifying learning/support needs and recording outcomes. 
• Knowledge of moving and handling. 
• Understanding of supporting individuals whose behaviours may challenge. 
• Ability to mentor less experienced staff.
